Young People Speak Out

Over three hundred Church Leaders will hear young people speak their minds at a unique delegate conference this autumn.

Twelve young Christians will speak frankly about their experience of church and their hopes for the future. This will be a key element of Churches Listening Together, the Forum of Churches Together in England.

Every three years the Forum brings together delegates from national Member Churches, County ecumenical bodies and organisations working ecumenically.

Archbishop Doyé Agama of the Apostolic Pastoral Congress and Moderator of the Forum commented:

I am very excited about the involvement of these young Christians. We look forward to open, honest, speaking about their difficulties, challenges and what gives them hope. Forum delegates will take their views seriously in order to chart a way forward towards Christian unity.

In preparation for the Forum twelve young people will be funded to attend the Chemin Neuf youth experience in France in August. Chemin Neuf has several ecumenical communities in England, notably at Lambeth Palace and Liverpool Cathedral. Applications close on 10 July.
