New General Secretary Appointed

Margaret Morris writes:

At the March 2015 Council meeting Yvonne Campbell was confirmed as the new General Secretary of the Congregational Federation. As you know, we have advertised widely and the Job Specification has been sent to all churches.

The Interview Panel of Council members were able to interview four high quality candidates. The candidates also met with the senior staff of the Congregational Federation. The Panel’s decision to appoint Yvonne was unanimous. We are now looking forward to an opportunity for you to meet her at our May Assembly on Saturday May 9th at The Cresset, Peterborough. She will be starting in post on 13th July.

Yvonne says:

Yvonne, Dave & Poppy CampbellHello everyone.

My name is Yvonne Campbell, I’m a member of Wavertree Congregational Church in Liverpool and I am so honoured and excited to be starting my role as General Secretary. I am married to Dave and have a beautiful little daughter called Poppy.

I currently work for The City of Liverpool College teaching IT. I have taught for 18 years and I will finish at the end of the summer term in July.

I have a passion for sharing the good news of Jesus and completed the Integrated Training Course in 2011 because I wanted to learn more about Jesus, the bible and faith. I never felt God calling me to a church but I feel God calling me to this new role to share and support people.

I want to visit lots of churches, worship with you and encourage you. I have lots of experience with Messy church and Pilots and can’t wait to find out more about what Jesus is doing for you, pray with you and for you.

The theme for our Assembly is Forward Together – and with Yvonne as General Secretary we look forward to being led by the Holy Spirit to be doing just that!
Every blessing
Margaret Morris
Vice Chair of Council
