Community and Mission

A look through the list of Congregational Churches quickly shows that there are congregations in a variety of locations.

There are churches on the coast, and churches in small rural hamlets.  There are inner city churches, churches on main high streets, and churches next to local markets.  Some churches have only sheep for neighbours, others are surrounded by new housing estates. Some churches are a gathered community, with little contact with local people.  Others are made up of local people who have lived their whole lives in the same village.

Wherever the church is situated, the common thread remains the work of sharing the gospel with those around them. On these pages you will find stories from the churches which will inspire and encourage us all, and ideas for working with your community.
