Godly Play and Older People

Godly Play is a creative and imaginative approach to Christian nurture,

  • based on long established, tried and tested approaches,
  • uses symbols and objects as well as words
  • values process, openness and discovery
  • encourages people to make meaning for themselves
  • It invites listeners into stories and encourages them to connect the stories with personal experience.

Godly Play is being used with older people in a variety of care settings: nursing homes; residential care; retirement villages; lunch clubs; and with intergenerational groups. It is also used with people who are living with dementia.  For more information follow the links on the right.
