CIPT Volunteer Tutor

Do you have in interest in adult learning?

Are you passionate about sharing your knowledge of theology with others?

Have you got the time to give something back to the Congregational Federation and to help develop others?

We are looking for volunteer tutors to join our dedicated team as we deliver the Foundation degree to students from around the CF and beyond. Opportunities are available in a wide range of specialist subject areas. This is an exciting opportunity to help to make a difference to the lives of the students and CF churches.

You need to be educated to at least BA level in Theology or an associated subject, as well as having a good knowledge of, and be sympathetic to, the Congregational way. You must be available to attend the 4 training weekends each year held in Nottingham and be able to commit time for marking assignments etc. Training and support will be provided.

We are a small and friendly team and would particularly welcome applications from those from diverse backgrounds and/or ethnic minority groups.

Although this is a voluntary role, benefits include:

  • Training leading to the possibility of accreditation to the roll of ministries as a Tutor
  • A £200 book grant each year
  • Travel and hospitality/accommodation expenses paid for training weekends
  • Opportunities for further CPD and continued learning from others
  • Rewarding work training ministers and others serving our churches
  • Great teamwork and support from other tutors and staff
  • Working on a Foundation Degree programme which is validated by York St John University
  • Nominal fee paid per assignment marked

Please note successful applicants will require a DBS check and to be approved by York St John University
