16 days of Activism Against Gender Based Violence
26 November 2025
Shared from CWM:
As we prepare to commence the global observance of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence (25 November – 10 December), the Council for World Mission (CWM) anticipates with excitement how you will engage in a transformative journey of reflection and action under the theme:
“Transformative Masculinities”
Gender-based violence remains a pressing challenge in our communities and addressing it requires transformation. This year, we focus on transformative masculinities- a process of engaging boys and men as protectors and advocates for girls and women-dismantling GBV. Transformative masculinities- reimagines manhood as life-giving, just, and rooted in mutual respect rather than dominance and harm.
To support your engagement, CWM has provided a set of resources for use during the 16 Days:
• Daily Devotional for reflection, prayer and Bible study.
• Poetry on transformative masculinity
• Liturgy and prayer designed for worship settings
• Concept Paper outlining the theological and social framework
• Suggested Activities for churches and communities to foster dialogue and action
We encourage you to use these resources in your congregations, small groups, and community spaces. Host conversations, storytelling events, and worship experiences that challenge harmful norms and inspire men and boys to pledge to protect, not harm.
Together, let us embody Christ’s call to justice and peace by dismantling systems of violence and nurturing relationships grounded in love and equality.
