A Spring Pilgrimage

Walking, Reflecting, and Celebrating William Tyndale
Jill Stephen writes:
I am writing this on what seems like the first day of Spring. It has been a long dreary winter, and it is lovely to feel the warmth of the sun. If the weather is like this over the Easter weekend, I will be very happy.
A year ago, I was watching a Pilgrimage on television. A group of well-known people were walking a pilgrimage route in North Wales. The idea of walking and talking and being silent seemed to have had an impact on all their lives. There was time to enjoy the wonderful scenery, to have meaningful thoughts or just be. I wondered a year ago, whether it was possible to organise a pilgrimage of our own.
So we will be walking some of the Cotswold Way, climbing up to the Tyndale monument and visiting some of the local historic churches in my local area in Gloucestershire.
Itinerary
Easter Saturday 10am at Coaley Peak (GL10 3TP), join at Cam Peak (GL11 5HH) or Stinchcombe golf course (GL11 6AQ). The walk includes some spectacular views and some spectacular climbs. You get some of the views without the climbs if you join at the golf course. Eventually arrive at North Nibley for a meal and talk by a distinguished guest on William Tyndale.
Easter Sunday 6.30am. Sunrise service at Nibley Monument. (Children very welcome). Breakfast in North Nibley chapel. Later in the morning continue walking to St Martins (North Nibley), St Leonard’s (Tortworth), St James (Charfield) and after a picnic lunch arrive at Kingswood Abbey, where there will be a short cello recital in the upper room of the newly opened Gatehouse. This will be followed by a meal.
Pilgrimage is for everyone but this time not for children or dogs, although they are very welcome at the sunrise service and following breakfast.
