South East Area Church Support Worker

05 July 2017

The South East Area are very pleased to announce that they have appointed a new Church Support Worker. Clemy Gilmour, Area Secretary, writes:

Dear Friends

Jonathan MarvinI am delighted and feel privileged to be able to introduce to you our new Church Support Worker, Jonathan Marvin. We give thanks to God for answered prayers and that he has called Jonathan to be with us at this time. Please join me in welcoming Jonathan to the South East Area and to our churches.

Jonathan was born in south London and came to faith as a child. He was involved in Christian work at university, where he studied history and subsequently law. After graduating he served as a deacon in local church leadership for around ten years.

His heart is to help churches grow as strong communities that can be fed by the Bible, know the life-giving empowering presence of God and share in the mission of Jesus.

Jonathan works a solicitor alongside being the Church Support Worker for the South East Area. He studied preaching and church planting for a year in London and recently gained an MTh in Biblical and Theological studies. He and his wife Ruth are part of Caterham Community Church in Surrey. They have been married since 2014 and have one daughter, Hannah.

Jonathan is employed by the South East Area on a part-time basis for two days a week for the main purpose of supporting the churches in their ministry and mission.

Please do pray for him and his lovely family especially as he travels around the area.

Thank you all for your patience and for supporting us in this.

Best wishes and God bless,
