North-East Area Discovery Day

30 November 2015

Recently, Hillsborough Tabernacle Congregational Church hosted a North East Area Assembly with a difference. It was held jointly with the Learning and Development Department and looked at the spiritual treasure God can reveal in our lives.

Opening worship looked at the subtle differences between the parable of the treasure and the parable of the pearl. Together, in bible study, we dug deep into Romans 8 to unearth what is precious to us. Then there was a presentation of all that the Learning and Department can offer from the Integrated Training Course to the LEAF programme both of which have been a treasure in the lives of individuals and churches. Afternoon workshops included samples of the GIFT Course, LEAF and a sneaky peak of a new written resource, the follow-up to ‘Christ In All Things’ that will hopefully be released at the May Assembly. Betty Bentham led the closing worship with a real charge for us to share the treasure of the good news.

Thanks to the hosts, the Area and Keith Bradley and Rev Janet Wootton for helping to lead the day.
