Christian Aid Partnership 2021

This week we have received correspondence from Christian Aid that our partnership which is to support orphans in Kenya will have to stop. USAID are withdrawing their funding a year earlier than anticipated and as the major funder for this project the only option Christian Aid had was to close this programme and end our partnership.

We are relived that all the money we have raised - over £1500 plus any money through Assembly donations - will still be able to be sent to the orphanage in Kenya and we will update you on how the project ends.

Council have agreed therefore that for the rest of 2021 we will encourage individuals and churches with an opportunity to ‘Give Thanks’ for their Covid vaccines whilst helping those less fortunate than ourselves to tackle this global pandemic. Christian Aid have plenty of literature and photos to support this appeal and we will set up a ‘TapSimple’ page for you so church members can leave their own words of thanks. It will provide interesting reflections and help us as we move forward to select an appeal for our 50th anniversary in 2022.
