Ecumenical Mission

The Federation takes seriously how it relates to the wider Christian family. Our Inter-Church Board (ICB) ensures that we play our full part within the various ecumenical bodies within these islands and further afield.

In addition the ICB is keen to encourage healthy links with other Christian traditions at both local and county levels.

The four main national organisations in which we play our part are listed here. These support local churches through instruments such as Local Ecumenical Partnerships or Churches Together Groups. With the instruments for Ireland, the four nations are linked, through Churches Together in Britain and Ireland.

Ecumenical relationships are also important for our churches in Europe and Worldwide. The Churches of the Congregational Federation commit themselves to worshipping, learning and working with other Christians wherever and whenever possible.

If you are a member of a Congregational Federation church, interested in ecumenical involvement, and might consider representing the Congregational Federation on an ecumenical body, please contact us for more information about opportunities as they become available.
