Introducing Our Core Team

The Core Team are an nationally elected group of young people, aged between 17 and 28 years at the date of election, who have agreed to serve the youth in Federation Churches for a two year term. They currently work as a team to deliver a programme of regional and national events and where possible represent and inform local churches about CF-XTRA.

There are Core Team elections every year which means that there are always some people who served the previous year as well as the newly elected members.

CF-XTRA is about inclusion. If you are or have a young person who would like to be involved in CF-XTRA but not sure Core Team is the right place, do get in touch (ycadmin@congregational.org.uk), we'd love to have a conversation with you or them.

Rebecca Bushell

Rebecca Bushell (2013-17)

Hi, I’m Becca! I’m in my early 20s and live in Market Harborough with my partner. I work as a therapeutic care worker in a residential community for children with severe emotional and behavioural difficulties. My hobbies include baking, reading, scrapbooking and beach combing. From a young age I attended church with my Dad and was later invited to the local 'Pilots' group by a friend. My faith really started growing after going to my first residential event in 2008. From there I’ve had more involvement in the Federation including helping as a leader at my church's youth group since 2009, being part of the Zambia trip in 2010 and the opportunity to lead at events before stepping up onto Core Team in 2013. I absolutely love being on Core Team, I want to inspire young people and revitalise their faith. Being part of CF-XTRA is like having a huge extended family, everyone’s welcome!"

Bridie Bailey

Bridie Bailey (2015-17)

Hey, I'm Bridie! I'm from Stoke-on-Trent, I attend Newcastle Congregational church, I go to church with my Nana which I've been doing since I was little.
I work as a nursery nurse at a local nursery, and I also help at Rainbows and Brownies during the week. I've been part of the Federation since I was old enough to come to events, I've always enjoyed the events and want to help other young people to enjoy the events as much as I did. I also helped at the 2015 &2016 Leadership Conference to organise and run activities for the children to do whilst their parents were in the conference.
During my free time I like to see my friends, and family.
