National Churches Trust
The coronavirus may well be having an impact on your church in terms of use for services and other activities. The main denominations have information about what to do on their websites. Of course, do please keep up to date with the Government’s latest information on www.gov.uk
If you are concerned about the impact the outbreak could have on your grant offer or grant application, feel free to contact them by email.
The National Churches Trust is the national, independent, charity dedicated to promoting and supporting church buildings of historic, architectural and community value across the UK.
The Trust, founded in 2007, is the successor to the Historic Churches Preservation Trust (HCPT), created in 1953. Its patron is HM the Queen. The Trust receives no income from government or church authorities, and relies on voluntary contributions to undertake its work.
The aims of the National Churches Trust are:
- To help maintain the UK’s heritage of church buildings and to enhance their ability to serve local communities
- To promote the benefit to communities of church buildings and to inspire everyone to value and enjoy them.
The National Churches Trust support a wide variety of projects through its grant programmes. From repairing a roof to helping to install an accessible toilet - and many other projects - their grants help churches, people and local communities.
If you are looking for funding from them, but are not sure if they can fund your project or are unsure which grant programme to apply through, please look through the options on their website.
Please note that to be eligible for any of their grant programmes, you must have 50% of the funding required in place, this can include any VAT you are eligible to reclaim through the Listed Places of Worship Grant Scheme.
You can find details of churches, chapels and meeting houses we have helped with grants on an interactive map on their website.
