Equipped and Resourced

We are sure that one of your resolutions is be better equipped and resourced. With that in mind, here are some resources that are subscriptions that you could take out. I’ve tried to provide a theological range but please note the Federation doesn’t necessarily endorse every opinion in these magazines.

Christianity MagazineChristianity Magazine is a well-known magazine that aims to connect readers with God, culture and other Christians. While the articles do not always go into a lot of depth they do aim to be relevant. The magazine is often a good way to discover what other churches and denominations are doing in response to issues that we all face. The cost is £37 for a yearly subscription.  The magazine is monthly. You can receive a free sample by clicking the image to the right.

SojournersSojourners Magazine was established by Jim Wallis and links faith firmly with politics, social justice and peace-making. While its content is largely American and therefore not always applicable to the U.K. the magazine’s bible notes are brilliant and the articles challenge where and how our faith can make a difference. You can subscribe for a print copy which is approximately £37 pounds or go digital which is a lot cheaper at approximately £12. The magazine is monthly. Visit their webpage by clicking the left to the left.

Worship LiveWorship Live is edited by our own Janet Wootton and includes new hymns, poems, prayers and other worship material. The content comes from a wide variety of contributors and is often creative in its use of language and thought-provoking in its use of Scripture. The magazine downloads are quarterly and a subscription is £12. You can visit the webpage by clicking on the logo or get a taste on Facebook just type in Worship Live. The most recent posting is a hymn by Andrew Pratt about the loss of Nelson Mandela.

Inspire MagazineInspire is a free magazine full of inspiring stories about how faith has changed lives. It looks at innovative programmes such as HOPE 2014.

It’s a great magazine to have at the back of your Church for people to pick up or to put with your own Church publication. You can order copies from the website by clicking the image on the left.

The CongregationalistOf course don’t forget our very own Congregationalist which is a brilliant way of keeping in touch with what is going on and what other CF churches are up to. Click the image on the right to find out more.

Please let us know if there are other publications that help you with your Christian learning and service.
