As the managing Trustees of the Congregational Federation the following values have been adopted by the Council to enable their conduct of business.
Values
Acceptance of the character of Jesus Christ our Lord over all Council business
A working for the good of the Federation over and above personal viewpoints
A commitment to pray for Council members and staff, and to be prepared to think in radical ways about the future of the Federation
A commitment to the corporate nature of the Council and decisions that are taken
Respect for all people whatever their standpoint and background, and for the Chair as the enabler of each meeting and of all Council business
Courtesy at all times in dealing with others whether agreeing with their view or not ('disagreeing without being disagreeable')
A seeking after the mind of Christ at meetings rather than voting solely on mandates of those we represent
A seeking after consensus in decision-making wherever possible
A commitment to support the staff in their work of implementing Council strategy
