Churches work together to encourage each other

Two of our Congregational Federation churches - some eighty miles apart - are working together to encourage each other in their faith and witness. Yelvertoft Independent Chapel, in the East Midlands Area, and Nordelph Congregational Church, in the Eastern Area, have an exciting summer planned.

Nordelph have a theatre group, Fensong, at the heart of their witness. Fensong is a group of all ages, finding friends, faith, and fun, through the Arts - Drama, Music, Dance and much more! On the 12th -15th August, FenSong goes "On Tour" to Yelvertoft where they will camp in a local field and perform plays and songs for three different audiences. Daniel Jazz and other items will be performed at the outdoor Theatre by the Pond in Yelvertoft on the Saturday afternoon, and in the Village Hall in the evening. There will even be a workshop in the morning for children from Yelvertoft so they can perform as 'extras' in the afternoon and evening performances.

This partnership has been formed from working together to see the challenges that arise in a rural village setting. The two growing churches also hope to produce a video (with CF help) sharing stories of successes in 2 different rural settings.

There is an open invitation to any individuals or churches to come along and enjoy the performances in Yelvertoft - just contact Jan Lyon for ticket information.
