2016 Heritage Week (8th – 11th September)
Old Meeting House Congregational Church
Last year 740 visitors came to the Old Meeting House – this year we are praying to exceed 1,000.
- Every day (Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday) the chapel will be open to visitors between 9.45 – 4.30. Refreshments will be available.
- Each day at 11am John Plunkett will give a short talk on the history of our Elizabethan organ.
- Madeline Holt a Christian artist from Horsham, Sussex will have her artwork on display and she will be available to answer questions.
- Thursday 3pm and also on Saturday at 2pm Ted Doe will give a talk on the history of the Congregational Church 1580 – to the mid-20th century.
- Thursday 7.30 there will be a concert by the Norwich Singers.
- Friday 7.30 there will be a talk – Dr Andrew Hopper, lecturer in history at Leicester University, Curator of the National Civil War Centre in Newark Title to be confirmed.
- Saturday 7.30 there will be a concert by Sine Nomine.
- Sunday 2.30 there will be a combined talk by John Plunkett on the history of the organ and this is followed by a concert by Anne Page from Cambridge.
- Sunday evening at 6.30 there will be a Songs of Praise.
