National Prayer Weekend
02 September 2015
One life. One street. One community.
On 25-27 September 2015, CWR is holding a national weekend of prayer.
We are asking individuals, groups and churches across the country to join in by gathering local prayer requests and praying for their communities, forming a national prayer grid.
As we have been prayerfully considering CWR's 50th anniversary, we have felt God taking us back to our roots of personal and national transformation through prayer and Bible reading. Earlier this year we launched ‘Pay It Forward’, which is already changing lives by making God’s Word more accessible to those who need it most.
Working with churches and organisations all over the country, including HOPE, 24-7 Prayer, Neighbourhood Prayer Network, Evangelical Alliance and Gather, we are asking individuals, groups and churches across the country to pray for their community. We want to bring churches and individuals together to unite communities across the nation in prayer for their local area.
Central to this whole weekend is a heart to see people know and encounter God as their Father through the power of prayer.
The Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, encourages this prayer initiative by saying:
"When we have a Church that prays and is reconciled and reconciling, and that tells people confidently about Jesus, then the dawn will break, hope will rise, our countries will be transformed and the empty threats of economies and terrorists will be utterly and finally overthrown. To God be the glory."
