New Life to Hay Mills

Hay Mills is a Federation Church that closed a couple of years ago, but is now being re-opened as a fresh expression for people with learning disabilities. This is an exciting new Federation initiative, and much work will need to be done to make the vision a reality.

The starting point for the project team is a cleaning day on 16th April, from 10.30am - 3pm. Anyone who can join us that day will be very welcome. Bring your own lunch and we will provide drinks and biscuits to keep you going. The list of jobs to be done has not yet been finalised, but we anticipate the list will include:

  • Removing all old books and papers
  • Sorting out the kitchen, which has a lot of equipment that needs cleaning
  • Cleaning tables
  • Cleaning or removing the carpets
  • Sorting out all other stored equipment
  • Making a room into a good space for quiet conversation
  • Creating a good environment for our first messy church!

This is a big job, and we would welcome anyone who is free to help that day.

Thanks

The project team
