Hymn/Song Writing Competition
To mark the 500th anniversary of the Reformation
This competition is organised by the Congregational Federation as part of a year of commemorations, based on the THEME FREE WITH GOD and following the ecumenical pattern of Rejoicing, Remembering, Reforming, Repenting, Reconciling.
You may write words only, or words and music. Entries may be by one person, or in collaboration (for example, between a writer and composer). All entries should be in contemporary English, appropriate for congregational singing, and based on the theme and pattern outlined above.
Send your entry in one of the following formats:
WORDS ONLY as a Word document or pdf, preferably with a note of an existing tune (traditional hymn tune or other), and with your name at the foot of the text. All names will be removed before judging.
WORDS AND MUSIC as pdf with words set in verses or under the music (or first verse under the music).
Clear handwritten scores will be accepted. Music may be four part or song style. Your name should be at the foot of the text or over the music. All names will be removed before judging.
The deadline for entries is Monday May 8th.

The winner will be notified by Friday June 2nd. The winning entry will be sung at the Assembly on June 10th at Swansea, and published in Worship Live
