Updates and current developments

We have recently been able to complete phase two of a building project that links the church with its hall, this includes a new entrance/ foyer/training room that includes an IT suite.

Funding has come from Cory Environmental Trust in Britain, the Congregational and General Trust, and a third successful bid from Bexley Council - Aiming High fund for disabled children and young people - This helped to install an access hoist in the new disability toilet/wet room, and a platform lift which helps link the two parts of the building.

We are now fundraising for phase3 of the building work to install an external access ramp, to fit out the new ladies toilets and upgrade the lighting and heating system, as we look to make the facilities Co2 neutral.

Recent openings of the Soft Play have been very popular with over 100 children turning up on some visits, this has included arts and crafts sessions, an Easter Egg hunt in the church followed by a time of worship, led by a parent on a new keyboard - funded by a local charity because of our community work as a church.

We are also focusing on who uses our building by inviting new groups to use it and the Soft Play as we look to develop new ministries including chaplaincy with a children’s hospice, local schools, other churches and community groups as we seek to provide full-day childcare and offer a provision for parents and carers.
