Welcome to our church and fellowship
- Sunday Worship is held weekly at 10.30 am, followed by refreshments
- The Friday lunch club is held each month
- Each month we hold a themed social evening which consists includes food and entertainment and usually ends with a singsong.
- Every Thursday evening we have a table tennis club, which is held upstairs in the games room and is open to all.
- A recent new adventure is a cookery club, which has proved to be a great success. Here again the cookery club is open to all local residents.
Church Improvements
We have made several improvements to the church over the past couple of years which include converting the worshipping area into a combined worship/social area. This provides great flexibility to the area by having loose furniture rather than fixed pews.
We have installed a new kitchen area and internal disabled toilets. More recently we have been forced to renew our boiler and some of the radiators which has made a big improvement to the church.
We are now awaiting installation of new sound equipment which will include a loop system to help our regulars with hearing difficulties.
We remain a very active church, where visitors are made welcome both to worship and social events.
One of our very talented fellowship members has contributed many poems that she has written over the years. Here is one of our favourites entitled “Wonderful World”
Wonderful World
We take so much for granted
In this wonderful world of ours
The grass that grows beneath our feet
The hedgerows and the flowers
The beauty of the sunset
Song birds in the trees
The colours of the rainbow -
The soft and gentle breeze
All these things so beautiful
All of them are free
Given by a loving God
Who cares for you and me.
Our church remains very active. Our Friday lunch club continues to be popular. The monthly social evenings also well attended. No charges are made for these events but donations are welcome.
We have a regular table tennis group meeting on Thursday evenings in the upstairs “Leisure Room”.
The new kitchen and disabled toilets development are almost completed and should be up and running early September 2009.
On Sunday 6th September we are holding a “Songs of Praise” service at 3pm.
