As part of the North East Area Assembly, Rev Dr Michael Armstrong will be delivering a talk on the subject of assisted dying. How should Christians engage with the current debate? Do we think pastorally, ethically, theologically or all three? Where might there be shared concerns and big differences?

Tuesday June 20th - RURAL LIKEWISE (NORTH) at Grassington Congregational Church Joint event with the North West Area Saturday June 24th – Area Summer get together Includes talk on CHURCH...BUT NOT AS WE KNOW IT at Jacob's Well in York Church update Pickering as our newest church are growing slowly. Led by Ruth Leeming the church challenges complacency, encourages involvement and welcomes and offers hope to all. Ruth started level 5 of the integrated training programme last year.
Driffield another church growing church led by Pastor John Gaughan. They have recently taken a step in faith to move to full time ministry with the church open most days.
Having held our Autumn Assembly at Kipping, Pastor Vincent Mann has taken on a restoration project of the famous Bowland Street mission, "Smith Wigglesworth" old church in Bradford.
Whitley Bay now meet as a Methodist - Congregational congregation every Sunday. Rev Dr Michael Armstrong says the relationship has developed and deepened over the past 8 years & been successful and productive.
Hillsborough Tabernacle, led by Rev. Suzanne Nockels are now sharing their premises with the Salvation Army. Last year they started a 'Companion cafe' assisting those referred by Citizens Advice Bureau with no computer or computer knowledge to complete on line forms.
The church is following a LEAF programme of events and following on from taster events in 2016 Tapton Hill are developing a parallel brand of 'Chapel on the Corner' as a venue for films & concerts.
Following retirement of Rev Bill Bentham, Scunthorpe continue to develop their outreach with ‘Messy Church’ alongside many other groups already meeting at the church.
